Independent Can, Manufacturer of Fine Decorative Metal Packaging - Stock Tins, Custom Tins, Glass, PET, Specialty Containers

MINIMUM ORDERS

Q: What is the minimum order for Stock Tins?

A: 400 total tins & 2 cases of each item ordered.

Q: What is the minimum order for a Custom Tin?

A: It varies according to the size and shape of the can for existing items, in a range from 5,000 - 25,000 units. Items requiring a new tool will require a larger minimum and a longer lead-time. Please email us or call a sales representative for specific information on our minimum orders.

CUSTOM

Q: We would like a custom can with our name on it.  Is this something that Indecco can provide?

A: Yes, we perform our own lithography in-house. We also have an in-house art department to help bring out the best in your artwork.

Q: I need a can just a little taller/bigger than your stock size is this easy to do?

A: This answer depends on the construction of the tin.

1. Three Piece Can: Most Round and Irregular shape tins can be adjusted for height changes allowing you to have a larger or smaller capacity.

2. Two Piece (Drawn / Seamless Tins): Whether you are looking at a Round or Irregular shape Two Piece Tin there is a tooling modification required for any adjustment in size.

We are now making many shaped cans with technology allowing for easier height changes, however some shapes are still more difficult to change than others.

Q: We would like a custom sized tin. Can Independent Can produce 100% custom tin sizes & shapes?

A: Yes we can and we do, whether it is for domestic production, or off shore productions through our Western Specialty Division ( www.westernspecialty.com ).

Domestic production requires an analysis of the nature of the tin and manufacturing process required, the scope of the project, and the cost of tooling.

Independent Can will analyze your project to determine the best way to manufacture your specific package, delivering a high quality product in a reasonable amount of time.

Q: What is your standard lead-time for a custom tin?

A: 8-10 weeks with existing tooling and your artwork. We of course can be as flexible as possible to try to meet your in-house deadline.

Q: How early do I have to order to be sure I will get my Custom Tins in time for the holidays?

A: We encourage you to plan ahead as much as possible. With a custom tin there can be delays with regard to receiving art, and often the customer makes changes along the way, which delays the final shipment of your order.

Communication is key! If there are deadlines that need to be met for your custom order, let your sales representative know what your time frame.

For today's lead times EMAIL US or call 410.272.0090 and speak with a Sales Representative.

Q: Are the tins safe for food products?  Can we get a letter that states the tins are food safe?

A: Decorative tins are an accepted package for food products. We can recommend interior coatings for those products that are acidic or water based. We use only FDA approved inks and coating and can provide documentation from our suppliers.

STOCK

Q: Which are your best designs?

A: That answer varies depending on the season. Christmas is our most popular holiday. Sometimes the most generic of designs sell the best.

Q: What designs will sell the best in my shop?

A: We can't be sure, but a sound strategy may be to go with designs that you personally like, as your tastes most likely reflect the tastes of your customers. Designs that carry over from one season to another allow for some flexibility.

Q: What is your lead-time for stock tins?

A: 2-3 weeks depending on the season and availability at the time of your order. We of course often can and will do better .

Q: How early do I have to order to be sure I will get my order in time for Fall & Winter Holidays, and get all my tins?

A: We encourage you to order in the summer for the Fall & Winter Holiday season. However, if you do not order by the end of summer, this does not mean you will not get your tins.

For information on specific inventory Email US or Call 410.272.0090

Q: What is your return policy on Stock Tins ?

A: As stated on our price list, returned merchandise will not be accepted without prior written consent and is subject to a restocking charge. In most cases the customer is responsible for the return freight.

Q: Should we call Independent Can or a local distributor for information and to order cans?

A: We encourage you to call your local distributor regarding our stock line as they are well positioned to service your needs with stock and in many cases lower minimum orders.

A: Independent Can Ships through Common Carriers (LTL / TL). We also ship by UPS, DHL, and FEDEX when requested by our customers, however this is not always the best choice.

Q: Why can't you ship out next day?

A: Independent Can Co. cannot normally ship out next day, due to the current shipping schedule. Independent Can's normal lead-time is 2 weeks. We will, when possible, try to ship out sooner if stock is available & the Shipping Schedule allows. In some cases our distributors can ship out quicker.

Q: We have damaged cans. It appears to be manufacturing damage.  What should we do?

A: If you have received cans that you feel have manufacturing defects, Take the following steps.

1. Call your sales representative

2. Send your sales representative samples of the tins. These will be shown to our QA department for analysis.

3. Once our QA department has investigated the damage, your sales representative will call you to discuss the findings.

Q: It appears to be freight damage. What should we do?

A: If you have received cans that you feel have Freight Damage, Take the following steps.

1. Make notes of all damage directly on the Bill of Lading or on a damage form from UPS, FEDEX, or DHL. If you do not make these notes you may not be able to place a claim for the damage.

2. Call the delivering carrier to file a claim. They should fax you a copy of the claim form to be filled out and faxed back.

Q: I did not receive all the cans I ordered.  Why not, and am I going to get the rest on a later shipment?

A: Depending on the time of year, all the designs or sizes you have ordered may or may not be in stock. If you did not receive all the tins on your order:

1. Check the Packing List to see if the tins have been Back Ordered.

2. If the missing items have been Back Ordered, the rest of your tins will be shipped to you as soon as they are available. If you do not wish to receive the back ordered tins, you will need to call your sales representative to cancel the Back Order.

3. If the packing list does not show these items back ordered, call your sales representative and they will be happy to find out why you have not received your complete order.

Q: Which is better Collect or Pre-Paid Freight?

A: There is very little difference between Collect & Pre-Paid Freight, however Collect Shipments are a little cheaper.

1. Collect Shipments: Payment for the freight is due when the freight is delivered. A check will need to be given to the driver prior to unloading your order.

2. Pre-Paid Freight: Independent Can Company will add the cost of the freight to your invoice or charge your credit card.

3. Independent Can ships both Collect & Pre-Paid Freight FOB Factory, with no exceptions.

Q: What does FOB mean?

A: FOB means Freight On Board. This means that the freight becomes the property of the customer at the time it leaves the FOB point.

1. Independent Can Company ships all orders FOB Factory, which means that the freight is your property at the time it is loaded on to a truck or picked up by UPS, FEDEX, or DHL.

2. All Claims for freight damage must be filled with the delivering carrier, with no exceptions.

Q: Do you ship COD?

A: No, Independent Can does not ship COD.
